Equity, diversity and inclusivity

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) is central to the ERA Skills ethos of creating and sustaining a talent pipeline to secure the UK’s position as a leader in energy research and innovation.

The ERA Skills EDI working group aims to ensure we are actively engaging with a diverse set of doctoral researchers, and to help us understand potential barriers to participation and/or development for people with protected characteristic.

In order that financial considerations are not a barrier to participation in this discussion we will provide financial remuneration for the doctoral researcher members of this group.

Doctoral and post doctoral researcher members

  • Rhianna Garrett (Loughborough University)

  • Sophie Pain (University of Warwick)

  • Mossen Randeree (University of Birmingham)

To ensure that we get a variety of viewpoints we have appointed several university staff members to the group to provide us with perspectives from doctoral researchers’ supervisors as well individuals involved in researcher development and/or outreach. These representatives are selected based upon recommendations

Co-opted members

  • Dr Mirjam Röder (Aston University)
  • Professor Monica Giulietti (University of Nottingham)

  • Dr Lennie Foster (ERA and C-DICE Skills Manager)
  • Dr Katy McKenzie (University of Nottingham)

EDI is central to the ERA Skills ethos as a leader in energy research and innovation
