Brief Description

The Calvet Calorimeter determines of a wide range of properties including enthalpy, melting energy, specific heat, glass point, crystallinity, reaction enthalpy and thermal stability.

Detailed Description

The Calvet Calorimeter has a higher sensitivity compared to Heat Flux or DSC instruments which ensures very accurate specific heat measurements of solids, liquids and powders. Our Calvet Calorimeter can hold volumes ranging from 20 µl up to 10 ml without a loss of sensitivity. Solids, liquids, powders, pastes and even highly reactive samples can be measured in various atmospheres and pressures up to 30 bar. The instrument can be calibrated electrically which is an absolute calibration without the problems encountered by a calibration performed with a standard material. The calibration can be done at constant temperatures, in heating and cooling mode and for every type of vessel volume. Usage requires academic oversight.
