The UK agricultural sector faces growing pressure to transition to Net Zero while maintaining productivity, resilience and economic viability. But what is stopping progress, and what could help accelerate change?
This interactive workshop brings together farmers, agricultural and rural organisations, agro-processors, energy and technology specialists, policymakers, investors and researchers to explore practical solutions to the UK agricultural energy transition.
Participants will share challenges, hear cross-sector perspectives and explore research evidence, before using the Integrated Agricultural Energy Transition Framework (IAETF) to co-design priorities for action. The IAETF is a six-step framework for developing agricultural energy transition plans that integrate local community needs, agricultural and industrial drivers, enabling conditions, technical solutions, implementation and opportunities for scaling and replication.
The day will generate practical, policy, investment and research priorities, with findings contributing to a UK Agricultural Energy Transition Action Plan / Policy Brief.
