We are working with the Midlands Engine to address and resource solutions to energy challenges that present a barrier to economic growth.

Midlands Engine Energy Conversation

Energy is a vitally important sector across the Midlands, and nearly a third of all jobs nationwide in energy are based in the region. The Midlands energy sector has remarkable existing strengths, and our combination of capabilities mean there is great potential; to lead the UK and beyond in energy innovation and in delivering clean and green solutions.

The Midlands Engine is leading a crucial regional conversation, facilitated by the Energy Research Accelerator, in partnership with Browne Jacobson, to find a pathway to net zero and capitalise on the region’s unique strengths in clean energy.

A Midlands Engine roundtable event held earlier this year connected a leading range of talent from industry, government and academia to produce a White Paper to form the basis of this vital conversation.

As a result of this, a number of themes have emerged, and we are now running workshops on these, and we are inviting people from business, universities and the public sector with an interest in these subjects to take part. Your input will inform the action plan that will be developed as a result of this.

Please take a look at our working groups programme and register for any that are of interest to you.
